Meet Your Therapist
Sara Paules, LPC
Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Sara Paules (like Paul-Less) and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Texas # (74916). I hold an M.A. in Counseling from St. Edward's University in Austin, TX and a B.S. from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. I am a trained therapist in Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) by Rick Levinson, LCSW.
I am an advocate for women’s mental health, CPTSD, trauma, perinatal mental health, and ADHD & neurodivergency. In a therapy session with me, you can expect to be met with a non-judgmental human: real and honest.
Clients tend to describe me as warm, compassionate, collaborative and direct in my approach... with a little humor added in when appropriate.
I am not a "sit and nod" type of therapist by any means.
I am here to hold space for all the “wtf?” moments in life and connect with your humanity.
I am not the type of therapist who will act like the stand-off-ish expert in the room.
I believe in the power of your own inner wisdom.
My job as a therapist is to support and hold space for you to strengthen your mind/body connection, to find your voice again and to finally take that deep breath you’ve been holding in.
You don’t have to keep it all together or be perfect.
Let me support you as you navigate the messy parts of life.
The Boring Parts.
I am a native born Texan - I was born in a small East Texas town and lived in Fort Worth and College Station during my college years, in Austin for about 11 years and have finally settled our family in the community of New Braunfels, Texas as of 2022. I am a mom of two young children- a toddler and a kindergartener. I love a good DIY project, love to read fiction in my spare time, and I cannot get enough of spending time at the river- especially when I get a chance to kayak. New Braunfels is truly beautiful and I am so fortunate to live in such a beautiful town.
Before getting into private practice, I worked and volunteered with the Texas A&M University Pediatric Counseling Clinic, CPS, residential treatment centers for children in the CPS system, CASA, and with parents who were fostering/adopting children who came from difficult homes/situations. My mom is an elementary school teacher so some of my first jobs were working in schools and at one time, I began pursuing a license in play therapy for children and families and have several hours under my belt working as a therapist for children and families. While I no longer work with children directly, I find my knowledge and experience exponentially valuable in working with parents navigating the many transition into parenthood and adults who are processing old wounds and unhealthy relationships from their family of origin.
My life philanthropy is to work to fight against and educate about child abuse, support parents taking on the new challenge of parenting, processing trauma with adult children of childhood abuse and neglect in their road to healing.
Hopefully sharing a little bit about me can be helpful in making your decision about whether I might be a good match for you. If, in reading my about me, you feel like we may be a good fit, you can schedule your free consultation phone call by sending me an email at sara@mindfulsoulcenter.com or here.

Why Therapy?
It's hard to live the life you want and to feel like yourself when you feel trapped by shame, self-criticism or an inner critic. Shame thrives in isolation and grows stronger when we keep our fears to ourselves. Therapy can be a place to understand yourself deeper and to make room for the parts of you that are often kept in the shadows. Exploring our roots, primary attachments & relationships can give us more curiosity and self-compassion for what we've gone through which has the ability to transcend our relationships to self and others.
